Cocoa Beach is a beach townwith many shops and restaurants along the Cocoa Beach pier.

It is also home to some of the best surfers in the United States. So if you've always dreamed of surfing, the waves are suitable for beginners. While you're here, don't miss the opportunity to see the biggest surf shop in the world - the Ron Jon Surf Shop.

Cocoa Beach has vast areas of white sand and clear water, perfect for jogging, leisurely walks or swimming.

There are locker rooms, playgrounds, showers, picnic areas with grills and snack bars. Beach huts sell beach essentials and lifeguards are on duty in the summer. Metered parking is available along Flagler Street.

The city is known for the Daytona 500, NASCAR's annual racing competition that attracts thousands of racing enthusiasts. But even when there are no races, Daytona International Speedway offers year-round tours of this legendary track.

The beach allows you to bring your car directly onto the sand. It can get crowded here, especially in the "strip" area between International Speedway Boulevard and Seabreeze Boulevard.

If you are traveling with young children, be especially careful when moving around the beach. If you're looking for sand-free kids' entertainment, visit Daytona Lagoon with go-cart racing, miniature golf, a laser arena and more.

For a quiet beach getaway, I recommend Al Weeks Sr. North Coast Park. The park has basic amenities and a lifeguard so you can swim safely and then clean yourself up using the onsite showers. Parking is free but limited, so get there early to get a spot. The sand is golden, soft and rough.

There is notrestaurantsdirectly on the beach, but you'll find some options on Granada Boulevard.

Interestingly, millionaire John. D. Rockefeller owned the Casements winter home in Ormond Beach. The mansion has been restored and turned into a museum. Inside the mansion are several artifacts from the Rockefeller era, including a high-sided wicker beach chair.

Other tourist attractions in the area include Tomoka State Park and the "Birthplace of Speed", which is home to the annual vintage car show.

Due to its intimate atmosphere, car-free area and guarded waters, Ormond Beach is one of the popular family beaches near Orlando.

The best beach on the Canaveral National Seashore is Playalinda, perfect for swimming and sunbathing.

The beaches have boardwalks, making them wheelchair accessible. If you prefer more privacy, walk further away from the walkways.

Flagler Beachfront Winery is a great first stop along the way. And yes, they make their own wine and have outdoor seating. The wine bar also offers a selection of wines and delicious cheeses, charcuterie boards and flatbreads.
